Debuting at Theatre Charlotte in God of Carnage
Very excited to be joining this exceptional cast as Annette Raleigh in God of Carnage.
On January 26th, I auditioned for my first show in Charlotte. On January 28th, I learned I had landed the part of Annette Raleigh. And in two weeks, the Tony Award–winning comedy God of Carnage arrives at Theatre Charlotte and polite conversation quickly gives way to pure chaos. I was delighted to join Director Brian LaFontaine and cast member Brandon Samples (Michael Novak) for an interview at WCNC - you can see that below!
According to Theatre Charlotte:
Brandon Samples (Michael), Jenn Grabenstetter (Veronica), Paul Reilly (Alan) and Aimee Thomas (Annette) in Theatre Charlotte’s God of Carnage
This fast-paced one-act features a fantastic director, a powerhouse cast of four, and the kind of sharp, escalating comedy that’s a whole lot of fun to watch unfold. What begins as a civil meeting between two sets of parents to discuss their sons’ playground dispute quickly spirals into a hilarious and all-too-relatable battle of egos, manners, and meltdowns.
The show has already been getting some great attention this week. Director Brian Lafontaine joined two members of the cast on WCNC Charlotte to talk about the production and why it’s “a whole lot of fun watching grown-ups become children right before your eyes.”
Brian also stopped by WBT’s Good Morning BT with Artistic Director Chris Timmons to chat about the show’s relatable bite and the chaos audiences can expect.

GOD OF CARNAGE
By Yasmina Reza
A comedy of manners…without the manners. Winner of the 2009 Tony Award®, God of Carnage is a brash and hilarious exploration of human nature. After one 11-year-old is hit by another, their parents meet to find a mature resolution. As the evening wears on, their attempt at a civilized discussion quickly devolves into finger-pointing, name-calling, stomping around and throwing things. And that’s before they break out the rum! What begins as protective parenting ends as an excuse to let loose the primordial beast buried in each of us. This dark comedy reminds us of how close we are to crossing a line, and how ridiculous it looks when we do.
Performances: March 20 - April 5, 2026
